How each industry is growing in India
- Waste to energy market in India is expected to grow to about $14 Billion 2025
- Under the Waste to Energy Programme, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy sanctioned CFA of INR 250 cr to five MSW power projects with a total power capacity of 74.7 MW and total utilisation of approximately 6000 tons/day of MSW.
- India aims to boost ethanol production to be able to take the blending ratio to 20% by 2025.
- In India, biomass accounts for almost 32% of the primary energy mix. Annually, about 750 million metric tonnes of biomass is available in the country and a surplus biomass of about 230 million metric tonnes is available from agricultural residues, which has a hydrogen production potential of 7-8 million tonnes from dried feedstock. Further, urban India annually generates about 55 million tonnes of Municipal solid waste (MSW), which further has a hydrogen production potential of 1.8 million tonnes.
